A Korean-American who loves K-pop dancing and teaching the Bible, Jasmine and Vanita became close through their countless workdays together—sharing lunches, listening to each other's highs and lows, and offering support during tough seasons. Vanita was open and vulnerable during her hardships, and Jasmine was honored to listen; when her turn came, Vanita did the same for her without judgement. Over the years, Jasmine has witnessed Vanita grow in so many ways—finishing grad school, exploring new endeavors, and finding love with Patrick, her steady and secure partner. Some of her favorite memories with Vanita are their lunch talks and attending anime conventions together. Jasmine is overjoyed to see Vanita marry someone who truly loves and cares for her.

Along with Patrick, won Seaford High School’s 2015 “Best Friends” Award in the yearbook. Friends since first grade, they’ve spent their entire lives introducing each other to new obsessions, from Bionicles to AVGN to Coheed and Cambria, changing the course of their lives forever. Was present when Patrick had the best Honey Walnut Shrimp of his life in Philadelphia. In college, they’d spent every Monday night at Applebee’s for half off apps and trying to figure out how long they’d be able to survive living in one. After college, they moved in together in Astoria, surviving bedbug scares and the pandemic as they both met their current & future wives, respectively. Patrick could go on forever, but will end here saying he’s so proud to call Bobby a friend.

A long time ago in a galaxy far far away…. Vanita and Beany combined powers and created a storm of awesome from Boston to New York City catching punk shows and anime conventions. Eventually they realized their mutual life goal: pet all of the cats in the world! And thus they continue on being cute and sharing cat pictures forever.

Three years younger and still beat Patrick down the altar by ten months. Polar opposites in a lot of ways, they’ve learned to bond over the common ground they find in their differences. Patrick gets up at sunrise and Matthew sleeps until the afternoon? They’re both awake for another all-night horror movie marathon. Matt’s a Jets and Yankees and Patrick roots for the Giants and Mets? They’ve both suffered through a lot of terrible New York sports in the past decade. When they were kids, Patrick and Matt used to play Ken Griffey Jr. baseball on the N64 (middle-middle fastballs only so all games would end 99-98) and walk to the corner store to buy packs of Wacky Packages cards. Now, they and their partners go to Halloween Horror Nights together and still compare their Pokémon card collections, in between a few baseball games and football tailgates a year. Before Vanita ever entered the picture, Matt will always be Patrick’s first adventuring partner, travelling across the country and seeing everything from the Smokey Mountains to the Grand Canyon, with the annual trip to Busch Gardens Williamsburg for some roller coasters in between. Today, they’ve each found their match and set off on their own new journeys. But… they’re family, and their paths are guaranteed to cross again. And when that happens, Patrick will be waiting to annoy his younger brother the next chance he gets.

Sarah was a former Disney Meetup Group organizer who is super proud to have run the event where Patrick and Vanita met. She is still waiting for her finder's fee...will accept gold, diamonds, or themed cupcakes. From Disney to watching Vanita's absolutely beaming smile while dancing a wacky dance with one of the characters at Universal Studios, they always have a playful adventurous time!

Six years younger and still on the market (single ladies, come say hi during the wedding!). The baby and best-loved of the family. He’s also the party animal ever since he was a kid (there’s a photo of Patrick making Kevin chug a three-foot tall Budweiser bottle somewhere), ready to spend the entire night on the dance floor well after Patrick is ready to go to bed. They do both gamble though, whether it’s Kevin staring at Patrick in awe of him actually winning $500 off a Jets win, or the two and Matthew screaming at the top of their lungs over the world’s slowest jackpot at Mohegan Sun at 3 in the morning. Kevin and Patrick have long bonded over the song “Hello Helicopter” by Motion City Soundtrack their love of their Grandpa’s home cooked steaks, and share the same kind of deadpan snark that can always make each other laugh. Patrick’s been watching out of Kevin his entire life, especially the many papers he’s had to edit for Kevin from grade school to college. He’s his baby brother, and he couldn’t be more proud has he takes his next steps in life.

From Hong Kong to NYC, Diana met Vanita at a Disney meetup event and later somehow ended up on the same train together to Brooklyn, so what did they do? Started talking about Japanese anime and topics other than Disney. Thus, their friendship has led to more hangouts including attending a NYC anime convention and movie nights at Vanita and Patrick's place. Fun fact: the first boy she kissed was a sea lion at the New York Aquarium.

Childhood friends, John and Patrick spent countless summers making whirlpools in John’s pool and developing the patented “Scorponok” move, where one launches the other from their back. Later, both also got really into collecting comics, traveling all around Long Island to different shops to see if they could score any rare issues. On one of these trips, John was also present for Patrick’s first and only car accident, where he’s kept Patrick from freaking out too badly. He now applies his excellent patience as a father to two beautiful children, one born this year. It’s allowed Patrick and Vanita to gift the happy family all their extra claw game prizes.

A proud member of the Disney crew, Rae shares Vanita's passion for Walt Disney World and Patrick's love of all things Muppets. While their taste in music is always a mystery to her, she cannot wait to hit the dance floor with them at the reception—and to keep rocking out with them at Little Mermen concerts throughout their happily ever after. Fun fact: she has a hidden Mickey tattoo.

One of the few people who may actually watch more movies than Patrick. Before Moviepass was a thing, Kohl and Patrick used to get free tickets for previews and premieres to avoid paying for tickets as much as possible. They became fast friends over their love of Disney Movies and Theme Parks, though have spent countless hours debating which ones are actually good or not. Outside of movies, both are always down for a good board game night or Broadway show. A man of many talents, he’s run his own cupcake business and sews his own costumes!

Maya lived in NYC for 9 years now. She has known Patrick and Vanita for most of that time. They met through the Disney group and became good friends. From Disney trivia to watching Broadway shows, she has always enjoyed hanging out together. One memory that stands out was the time Vanita joined her and the group for Dapper Day at WDW(Walt Disney World). One of the group themes was The Princess and the Frog so for her first time attending Dapper Day, Vanita put together a very eloquent outfit representing the wishing star, Evangeline, that was incredible and helped bring the group theme together.

Patrick’s cousin. As toddlers, they attacked a man in a Barney suit at a birthday party with wiffle ball bats. Bonded for life over the highs (and many lows) of the New York Mets, they’ve been going to games together for years. When not at Citi Field, they’re probably at an emo or alternative concert, both are longtime fans of Anthony Green (RIP Circa Survive). He’s one of the few people who realized what Vanita’s engagement ring was a reference too and was very excited over it. Fun fact: When Nick also used to also live in Astoria, they’d celebrate every New Years by drinking as much as possible and going to Artichoke Pizza in the snow.

When she arrived, they were in the middle of a full blown conversation about Kingdom Hearts (cough flirting cough) and knew it was only a matter of time before they started dating. And she was right! It is such a joy for her to watch their relationship flourish and is honored to be standing with them at their wedding. Fun fact: She named her dog after Walt Disney (but the name isn't Walt).

They always ran in the same friend groups, but bonded for the first time when Patrick forced him to listen to a podcast about roller coasters on the bus to a track meet in middle school. Both are longtime film buffs and were active members of Seaford High School’s film club; they’re crowning achievement was somehow getting the school to approve a field trip to see Avatar in IMAX instead of, you know, learning. In a scheme to get free tickets for life, Patrick pushed PJ to get a job at the local theater, where he’s now become a full-fledged projectionist, working with directors and studio heads. Patrick still hasn’t gotten those tickets, though. His favorite Pokémon is Vaporeon.

Coming from Canada, Amber originally joined the Disney meetup group to find some new friends, and Vanita and Patrick are two awesome people that came into her life. It has been a pleasure for her seeing their relationship flourish. She will cherish all the memories of Vanita (and Patrick) laughing with her until they all cried after riding the insane roller coasters at Universal Studios.

The newest member of the group, he worked with some of the other groomsmen before meeting Patrick as mutual friends. They spent a lot of time playing Jackbox Party Pack at Zean’s apartment in Astoria. In 2020, both Vanita and Zean needed roommates so they actually moved in together; Patrick then spent his weekends there mooching. As the world fell apart, Zean and Patrick watched a lot of cooking videos in between trips to Comfortland and drinking outside. They also planned a Marvel Movie podcast that thankfully never saw the light of day.
