Our Story

Picture of Our Story

Once upon a time, there was a heartbroken man from Queens. Fresh out a relationship, he knew he was not ready for love again quite just yet. But he was lonely, and thought the best thing he could do was to join some meetups and make new friends to at least keep his mind preoccupied for now.

Around the same time, there was a shy woman from Brooklyn. She was also suffering from heartbreak, and against her usual intuition she also decided to put herself into the world again to try and meet new people. At one of these meetups, after a concert, she found the man drunkenly reciting the entire plot of Kingdom Hearts in less than five minutes to the rest of the group in the bar. She was enamored ever since.

Over the next few months, the man and woman spent more time together, going to movies or walking together under the lights of the city as friends. But one hot summer night, it was the man’s birthday, and he, his friends, and her spent the entire day together hopping between breweries and tiki bars and art installations. And when it came time to leave, she went to her cab. She waited just a split second before entering, hesitating, before she turned right around and walked back to the man.

She gave him a kiss goodnight.

Ever since, the two have been inseparable. They have seen hundreds of movies in dozens of theaters and outran The Blob. He has helped her get into costume for conventions and parties. She holds him tightly as they explore haunted houses and corn mazes. They have seen the Mets through many ups and downs, both on and off the field. They have supported one another; each worked and earned their graduate degrees at separate times. They have survived a pandemic and grieved over those they have lost along the way.

On March 7th, 2026, the man and woman invite you to be a part of the next chapter of their story as they join their lives together in marriage. But rest assured, it is not a happily ever after quite yet.

They still have plenty of stories left to tell.
